T-ball in Chattanooga?

I think my boy is ready for the big leagues. Does anyone know of a good t-ball league for 4-year olds? I have contacted East Brainerd but not sure if there were others.

Bruce Pearl Gets Ejected From Local Game

How can you get ejected from a game that you don't even care who wins? I can see him getting ejected from his own kids game but please....

Must have been quite a scene. Wonder if the refs knew who he was. The ref is probably a Kentucky fan.

Most sports fans have seen this already. One game suspension? Is that enough?

When Parents Attack

Nice hit by a father on a young football player.

I guess it broke into a big brawl. I bet the kids learned a good lesson that day.

Tennessee Football Returns

Great performance today by Tennessee. (game is not over yet)

Erik Ainge was 10-15 289 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

Meachem had 5 receptions for 182 yards and two touchdowns.

Glad to see such a great performance against a ranked team.

USA booked but still alive

Azzurri self-destruct against USA

Nine-man USA thwart Italy

Point taken
Fun game to watch.

Pretty good game by the USA. Much stronger attack. They had a lot of dangerous chances.

We still haven't earned a goal yet.

Don't want to complain about the officials but... Alot of cards and then they didn't call anything in the final 20 minutes.

A win against Ghana on Thursday could advance the USA to the second round.

Shots:
Italy 10 USA 8

Shots on Goal:
Italy 3 USA 0

Cautions
TOTTI Francesco (ITA) 5', POPE Eddie (USA) 21', POPE Eddie (USA) 47', ZAMBROTTA Gianluca (ITA) 70'

Expulsions
DE ROSSI Daniele (ITA) 28', MASTROENI Pablo (USA) 45', POPE Eddie (USA) 47' 2Y

World Cup

Since most of our money goes into diapers and food, we have suffered with basic cable (2-13) for years. I consider myself a sports fan and miss many games because of our lack of cable.

During the last world cup, i got myself out of bed at 3 a.m. to watch a play-by-play of the US games on the internet.

We bit the bullet this month and ordered digital cable since they had a two-month special. I now can now actually watch the world cup and it has been awesome.

Although I have not been able to watch all the games, (I do have to work some) I did get to watch most of the US game yesterday.

What a disappointment. I am not disappointed in how they played. I think we just got beat by a better team. Hopefully we can surprise some people with a strong effort against Italy on Saturday.

It is tough to match up with a 6'7" striker like Jan Koller of Czech Republic.

Looking forward to seeing some of the Brazil match this afternoon.

I think my favorite part of the world cup is seeing the ethnic/racial differences of all the teams. Watching games like- Poland vs Ecuador or Trinidad and Tobago vs Sweden with there different style of play is great. Also, thinking about an entire country of Japan celebrating their first goal yesterday is awesome. It truly is an international event that most American's don't understand.

High School Basketball at it's Best

If you love high school basketball and ended up staying home or going to a movie last night you missed some good stuff.

I had the privilege of seeing part of several games last night.

My night started at CCS. It was homecoming and the small gym was packed from wall to wall. The girls game against East Ridge was a blow out.

The boys game was very exciting. East Ridge has a 6'10 guy that is just a sophomore. CCS frustrated him the first quarter and took a big lead. ER pulled it together and won in the end but it went down to the wire. The crowd was very into the game.

As I left, I knew that Temple and Grace were playing at
Tennessee Temple University so I made my way over there on my way home, hoping to see the end. I parked illegally and walked in with 16 seconds left.

Again the gym was packed (2000+ was the estimated attendance) and the atmosphere was electric. Grace hit a three with five seconds left to send it to OT. Grace won in overtime.

Grace wins Thriller
East Ridge Rallies for Win

I guess today will be NFL football and fun with the family.

Here We Go

We are very new to the world of blogging but excited about being part of it. We still haven't decided what our title will be or the direction this blog will take but we decided to go ahead and jump in with both feet. What better way to learn right?

We may try to take part in discussions about local issues or we may just decide to use this blog to share news about our ever growing family.

We are proud parents of four beautiful children and expecting another in November. We are very interested in local issues but have never actively participated in trying to affect change in our city.

We do have a heart for the people of our city and have been active with outreach ministries through our Church.

We have been active readers of Chattablogs for a while now and look forward to joining this blogging community.
