World Cup
Since most of our money goes into diapers and food, we have suffered with basic cable (2-13) for years. I consider myself a sports fan and miss many games because of our lack of cable.
During the last world cup, i got myself out of bed at 3 a.m. to watch a play-by-play of the US games on the internet.
We bit the bullet this month and ordered digital cable since they had a two-month special. I now can now actually watch the world cup and it has been awesome.
Although I have not been able to watch all the games, (I do have to work some) I did get to watch most of the US game yesterday.
What a disappointment. I am not disappointed in how they played. I think we just got beat by a better team. Hopefully we can surprise some people with a strong effort against Italy on Saturday.
It is tough to match up with a 6'7" striker like Jan Koller of Czech Republic.
Looking forward to seeing some of the Brazil match this afternoon.
I think my favorite part of the world cup is seeing the ethnic/racial differences of all the teams. Watching games like- Poland vs Ecuador or Trinidad and Tobago vs Sweden with there different style of play is great. Also, thinking about an entire country of Japan celebrating their first goal yesterday is awesome. It truly is an international event that most American's don't understand.
